New rules for people from Ukraine from 11 June
We would like to inform you that, effective June 11th, Ukrainian nationals holding a residence permit in Sweden under the Temporary Protection Directive may apply for a Swedish residence and work permit without leaving the country.
Important considerations for employees:
If an employee applies for and is granted a work permit, the basis for their residence permit will change.
This may affect their entitlement to support, and benefits provided by the Migration Agency, the Public Employment Service, and the Social Insurance Agency.
We therefore recommend that employees carefully assess the potential implications of changing their residence status before submitting a work permit application.

Please note the following:
- The work permit application must be submitted before the employee's current residence permit under the Temporary Protection Directive expires.
- If the employee has already commenced employment with your company, the position does not need to be advertised as part of the work permit process.
