K2 X Border’s case management platform, Ascent, is built to support API-based connectivity, thus facilitating two-way data exchange. The result: greater visibility (e.g. bi-directional milestone updates), enhanced accessibility (e.g. dashboard reporting), and more streamlined processes (e.g. automated initiations).
We have integrated API-based data connections with several third-party platforms, such as Equus APro, Workia & Move Assist.
Furthermore, we have developed a generic company API which facilitates flexible integration with various HR and mobility systems, and which we have leveraged effectively across a range of client engagements.
We run a data-mapping workshop with a client’s IT and HR teams at the beginning of the engagement.
This enables us to reconcile all data formats and structures, eliminating the risk of incompatible data fields creating confusion and causing delays further down the line.
The beginning of the engagement also sees us establishing a clear governance framework with dedicated points of contact for both our team and the client’s IT and HR teams.
We create regular technical touch points and build a shared project tracker to ensure that all stakeholders remain aligned.
We implement API integration in phases, rolling it out to a pilot group before deploying it fully.
This enables us to troubleshoot in a controlled environment, leading to a smoother adoption process for the main group of users post-pilot.
Real-time data exchange must be controlled through robust validation protocols to prevent incorrect or incomplete data from disrupting workflows.
We monitor our automated alerts for data discrepancies to ensure that they are firing correctly, and we learn as we progress through an engagement, continuously refining our error-handling mechanisms.
