The Midlands Global Mobility Forum (MGMF) Spring 2025 event was a fantastic milestone for us, and we were thrilled to celebrate our 10th anniversary with the wonderful support of our partners and attendees.
We started the day with warm introductions, setting the stage for thought-provoking sessions that covered key topics such as immigration developments, tax updates, and sustainability efforts. The agenda was designed to deliver valuable information, while also showcasing updates on K2’s own sustainability initiatives and the most recent trends in immigration.
Jesper Albrekt, Head of Global Immigration Operations & Client Engagement presented the latest immigration trends which was particularly well-received. He delved into managing immigration programmes in an ever-changing landscape, highlighting compliance, internal policy adjustments, and distinctions between work and business travel. Jesper also touched on mobilisation timelines and market entry strategy, all while speaking about K2’s focus on tech-driven solutions and growth.
Davyd Fisher, Gill Wood and Megan Hand from Grant Thornton shared timely updates on global tax trends, including the influence of US politics and tariffs, as well as the challenges presented by the fluctuating economy and cost of living concerns. They also explored remote working arrangements, social security updates, and the implications of the new Foreign Income and Gains Regime, giving attendees a lot to think about and discuss.
Linda Rafferty, Global Head of Compliance & ESG provided an inspiring update on K2’s sustainability programme, reflecting on a decade of progress and commitment to environmental and social responsibility. She spoke about milestones such as achieving ISO certifications, our partnerships with EcoVadis and the University of Bath, and the launch of the KINETIC strategy. Linda also outlined our future goals, including publishing the Net Zero transition plan and expanding EcoVadis coverage.
To mark this special occasion, we handed out commemorative pin badges to all attendees. These badges were a small yet meaningful gesture, symbolising our ongoing commitment to providing an unforgettable service and the relationships we’ve built over the past ten years. Additionally, K2 acknowledged Sheen Cleary from TAE‘s dedication by presenting her with an engraved glass award from a local trophy makers Sinclair Trophies, recognizing her as the “Attendee of the Decade” for attending every MGMF event over the past ten years.
The heart of the event was undoubtedly the interaction with our wonderful attendees. Their enthusiasm was evident in the thoughtful questions and shared experiences, reaffirming the mutual trust and confidence that has grown over the years. This engagement truly made the event special.
Overall, the MGMF Spring 2025 event was a morning to remember—a perfect blend of celebration, learning, and connection. We’re grateful to everyone who joined us and contributed to making it such a success. Moving forward, we can’t wait to continue serving our clients with the same dedication and professionalism that defines us.
